Cliff (306), Avon Lake, Ohio, USA Oct 17, 2006 i have a place in my heart for rye in beer and this doesn’t disappoint. nice spicy rye aroma coupled with delicate floral and citrusy hops. both aromas carry over into the delightfully smooth beverage. great mouthfeel, coats everything with that great rye. excellent aftertaste and lingering spice finish. would had one or ten more but i was on a break from a convention across the street. spector (906), Lancaster, Ohio, USA Feb 10, 2007 Lots of hops followed by some of the rye in the aroma.Pours a hazy orange with a medium off white head.Lots of hops in the flavor.Medium mouthfeel with a bitter hop finish. Gunshy (479), Ohio, USA Jul 25, 2002 One of my favorite beers after the Russian Imperial and Oatmeal Stouts. Has a good color, nice aroma and wonderful flavor. When it comes back in the fall I will be carry home a jug of this every night like I do with the Russian Imperial.
Marsiblursi (1470), göteborg, Sweden Apr 1, 2007 (Bottle, thanks moejuck) Pours hazy orange. Hoppy aroma with tones of tangerines, roses and malty/ grainy notes of toasty caramel and rye. Undertones of pine, apricot and grapefruit with a floral hint. Hoppy flavour as well with tones of grapefruit and some flowers. Some toasty caramell undertones. Light sweet and medium bitter. Some grapefruit bitterness lingers along with a touch of caramel and rye. Medium body.
