Sample at the Alehouse on 12/26/11. Pours a clear amber to copper with a thin beige head. Aroma of candied fruit, caramel, toffee, bourbon and subtle citrusy hops. Flavor starts with bourbon, but is quickly joined by a mixture of vanilla and chocolate, then caramel candy rounds it out with a touch of grassy hops in the finish. Outstanding and easily one of the best Barley’s beers I’ve had in a while.
