On cask at the Smokehouse on 2/12/11. Pours an opaque cider brown color with a medium tan head. Aroma is malt, sweet caramel, cinnamon, ginger and a hint of bourbon oakiness. Flavor starts with spices (cinnamon and ginger), then turns to those Kraft caramels you used to get at Halloween. Finish is comprised of oaky vanilla and caramel candy.

On cask at Barley’s Smokehouse, served in a snifter. The beer is a reddish-brown color with a medium thin off-white head that recedes quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet malt, cinnamon and oak. Medium, smooth body with a light oak character and flavors of caramel malt, vanilla, fruit and spice. The finish is sweetly spiced with a malty aftertaste. Pretty good all around.
