BennyTicklez (621), USA May 22, 2005 This much anticipated brew pours hazy orange with a big off white head. Aroma is sharp pine hops. Taste is similar to 90 minute IPA, with the sticky mouthfeel and pine hops. Not much malt to speak of, but who cares when there are all those hops! A great beer. TomDecapolis (2545), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 4, 2007 Thanks to hopdog for sharing this growler. Pours a lightly hazy golden orange with an average off white creamy/bubbly head that sustained and left lots of spotty lacing. Aroma of citrus, pine...like a whole handful of hop pellets. Hints of some caramel malts hidden in there as well. Flavor of upfront bitterness, grapefruit and pine. Not a whole lot of malt in there. Lacking the sweetness I was looking for in a Double IPA. Still great hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. Orange burps. trep (1), USA does not count Feb 23, 2006 Served in a snifter and poured from the tower at Alehouse #1.
This beer reminded me alot of DFH 90 min IPA. Look great in the glass, a two finger head that’s bursting with hops. Very smooth on the palate and quite drinkable for an Imperial IPA. Hands down, a very solid IIPA. Dogbrick (2358), Columbus, Ohio, USA May 23, 2005 So named for the "4 C’s" - 4 different hop varieties added that start with the letter C. The beer is a murky dark orange color with a medium eggshell-white head. Thin an sticky lacing. The aroma is heady with hops, citrus and pine. Full-bodied and very hoppy with a nice fruity character. The finish is hoppy and lingering with a hint of pine. I’ve been waiting awhile for Barley’s to enter the Imperial IPA arena and this beer does not disappoint. dwyerpg (2143), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Jun 11, 2007 A nice aroma of fruity hops. Flavor of this on regular tap is creamy almost but quite enjoyable. The firkin sample was warmer and uncarbonated. Both finished a little weak, but overall nice.
