argo0 (6287), Washington DC, USA Jan 24, 2005 (No. 1) Creamy beige head, clear dark brown body, nice lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, chocolate, some coffee. Taste is medium sweet, chococoffee, light nutty. Medium body, low carbonation. CaptainCougar (4687), Rockville, Maryland, USA Apr 25, 2006 Sampled from a growler shared by kp: Pours a transparent dark mahogany with a frothy, nicely-lacing tan head. Sweet, lightly spiced spruce and chocolate malty aroma. Starts with a nice mild caramel toffee sweetness balanced with some piney flavoring hops and milk chocolate toward the finish. Smooth and drinkable with nice balance. BBB63 (3843), La Porte, Indiana, USA Nov 19, 2003 On tap: Medium brown hue with good tan head and soem lace. The aroma hinted of roasted malt, mocha, coffee, smoke, light pine, grassy hops, apple, and earthy yeast esters. Smooth and crisp mouthfeel led to a nutty, smoky, and bitter taste. Some sweetness is available has an undertone. A bit thin and watery. Okay, nothing earth shaking. goldtwins (3747), Nesconset, New York, USA Mar 21, 2006 Growler @ Kp’s house. Poured a clear very dark amber color with a ruby hue and large beige head. The aroma was roasty and sweet with a fair amount of milk chocolate mixed in. Roasted malt flavor with a good amount of chocolate on the finish. The chocolate keeps increasing as it warms. Clean and smooth. Light to medium bodied. A little lighter than i like for a porter.
