Commercial Description:
The 2004 homebrew competition winner from Jay Wince, it's an immensly drinkable porter. Smoke from the smoked malt issubtle, yet lingers in the background. Jay ain't blowin' smoke and we ain't just whistlin' Dixie when we say this is one enjoyable brew.

On tap at alehouse #1 - Pours almost black but very deep dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma is of roasted chocolate malt and some coffee. Flavor is much the same with a little unexpected smokiness. On the palate this is much thinner than I expected and seemed a touch on the watery side. Nonetheless a nice brew though and it was most excellent on cask...

On draught at Ale House #1. This Jay character knows his stuff! His Anastasia Russian Imperial Stout last year was pretty darn good. This beer is very dark brown with a thin off-white head. Aromatic malt and coffee in the nose. Medium-bodied and very smooth, with the smoked character nicely understated. Roasted malt and coffee flavors are intertwined with a bit of sweet chocolate. The finish is soft and smooth with malt and a touch of floral hops. Very enjoyable.
