Good stuff. sliffy (1951), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jan 7, 2007 On the firkin @ the smokehouse: Hazy copper color with an off white head. Aroma of citrus, pine and some sweet malts. Flavor, sweet caramel up front with some light fruits, citrus, and piney hops on the finish, some oranges as well. There is an interesting spice to it that comes through at the end. Pretty unique taste, I really enjoyed it. shigadeyo (1399), Southwest Ohio Area, Ohio, USA Nov 14, 2006 Written on the board as "KMBA IPA" -- Sampled from CASK on 11/08/2006 at Barleys Smokehouse (Ale House #2)...
Very mellow and creamy compared to the Barley’s Centennial IPA. This one seemed to have more maltiness. Not quite as bitter either. However, the alcohol seems more evident in this one. OhioDad (2492), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Jan 18, 2006 Updated: Jan 19, 2006On cask at the smokehouse - pour is amber with a nice fluffy offwhite had with good rentention and lacing down the glass. Aroma is a nice hoppy grapefruit and pine with an underlying presence of caramel malt. Flavor starts out somewhat bitter but quickly the caramel malts show through only to be blended back in with the grapefruit and pine to make a nice balanced wonderful IPA. Palate is medium bodied smooth and creamy. A real delight in the IPA world.. Nice.. Darkover (1214), Columbus, Ohio, USA Aug 5, 2005 From the firkikng: Clear orange with no head.Aroma of citrus hops and a little malt. Strong hop flavor is prettty well balanced with malt.
