argo0 (6287), Washington DC, USA Jan 24, 2005 (No. 1) No head, crystal dark amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, biscuit, some caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel/maple, faint peat. Medium body, some stickiness. Rastacouere (5418), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 2, 2008 Objectively speaking:
Draught @ Barley’s number 1. Very light and not particularly tasty brewpub scottish ale. The 6.6% goes unnoticed.

I like:
Unexpected fruity notes reach beyond the usual caramel to discover apricot territories.

I dislike:
Simplistic. No hops noticeable. Very light-bodied, yet malt oriented clearly. Poor, sloppy texture. Grainy maltiness, sweet and dull. CaptainCougar (4687), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jan 23, 2006 Sampled from a growler courtesy of kp: Pale transparent golden pour has a thin, lightly-lacing white head. Dry, lightly earthy and grainy malty aroma has a hint of floral hops. Starts with lots of sweet sugary malt and grainy flavor. Full, sticky malty body is slightly underattenuated. goldtwins (3747), Nesconset, New York, USA Jan 15, 2006 Growler @ KP’s cellar. Poured a clear light amber color with a thin almost white head. Aroma was sweet with light molasses, touch of honey, and some fruit. Malty flavor was sweet with mostly caramel. Acidic finish had a mild bitterness. Soft and velvety.
