Out of my take home growler: Pours a rich copper brown, mildly hazy nice head of foam. Nose is Roasty malt with some woody hints. Taste is a nice tangy hop front with a solid malt body and a touch of sweetness. refreshing, medium body with good but not aggressive carbination. Finish is light good bitters.

Sample at the North Market Columbus Microbrew fest on 09/26/2010. I cant believe I have never had this in all my trips to Barleys! Sweet malty taste. Bread, nuts and even some fruit. Plums and apples perhaps. Very drinkable and enjoyable!

On tap at the Smokehouse. Clear amber pour with a thin beige head. Malty aroma with some subtle soft fruit influence (apple, peach) and light hops. Sweet and caramel malts hit the palate first followed by fruit and a bitter hop finish. Nicely balanced o-fest.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Rogueone (506) - I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA - OCT 23, 2008
Draft @ Smokehouse: Pours a clear amber with bright orange highlights. Minimal ring of white receding head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt. Flavor is nutty, bready malt with a lingering sweetness. The first pours of this were relatively hoppy for the style. Almost a tea-like dryness in the finish. Not a standout, but tasty nonetheless.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Rastacouere (5919) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 29, 2008
Draft @ number 2. A good take on an oktoberfest, aiming at cleanliness and accuracy and doing it well. Clean and bready palate with growing toasted notes. Firm medium body. Obvious, tasty lager character. Soft herbal bitterness closes wraps everything up. Not particularly inspiring, yet what pretty much what I expect when ordering an oktoberfest.

Had on tap at the Columbus Microbrew Festival. This one was not my favorite, but had good flavor.

On tap at Columbus Microbrew Festival. Nice nut brown pour, but thats about it. A bit of roasted malt on the flavor; funky and out of balance to me, but not terrible.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20 DrHomolka (761) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 30, 2008
Draft at the smokehouse. Pours a light amber/red iced tea like color with just the thinnest white head. Aroma is a very nice, crisp intense maltiness. Like smelling good quality fresh barley. Really nice smell. Taste is toasty, malty, sweetness up front then finishes relatively dry for the style. Body is medium/medium-thin. This is a quality Oktoberfest that is about what I’d expect from the style.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Tmoney99 (7294) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 4, 2007
Draft at Smokehouse. Poured clear dark amber hue with an average fizzy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate aroma of toasted woody malt. Medium body. Well balanced woody bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is better then my expectations.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ultraspank (867) - Dublin, Ohio, USA - NOV 4, 2007
Had this on tap at the Smokehouse with my friend Tommy while watching the Buckeyes spank the Badgers. Toasty and sweet nose of flowers and wheat. The brew is sparkling ruby copper. The thin tap head is mostly diminishing with no lace. The brew is incredibly well balanced especially for the style. Much more hops than I’m used to, a huge improvement IMO. Moderate acidity and a long floral finish round out the experience. The medium body is dry and lively, the finish feels very astringent.
