COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Full-bodied, yet light and crisp in the tradition of a Continental pilsner. We make this one with choicest pale malt and highest quality hops, including Slovakian Saaz - the rarest and most expensive hops in the world.

Draft in a sampler at Barley’s #1. Pours a clear yellow-gold with a small, lasting white head. Really faint aroma- bready malts, crackers, just a hint of hops. Flavor starts dry and bready and finishes with a small dose of hop bitterness. Medium-carbonation with a bready mouthfeel and medium, soft carbonation. Decent. Mostly bland, though.

Pours a pale straw with very limited head. Aroma is lightly lemony, with some malt graininess. Clean, crisp but a touch thin. A decent pale lager.

On tap at Barleys Ale House #1, Columbus OH, March 2010. Gold colour. Good condition. Very biscuity, grainy malt aroma. More of the same on the palate. Slightly sweet. Not enough hops for my taste.

Bleh. It has a big fluffy head to it, but no real aroma and the flavor is kind of skunky lager and a watery body. The worst I tasted at this brewpub.

golden with medium white head. grainy nose. moderate bitterness before grainy malt character that is understated. not much flavor in this brew, doesn’t fit bohemian or german pils style. weak version

Sample at the Alehouse. Clear gold pour with a medium white head. Malty aroma with some lager yeast. Malty flavor giving way to hops and a crisp finish. Fuller flavor than I was expecting and quite refreshing.

Objectively speaking: Grainy, almost ricey example that fails short of top examples.
I like: Interesting flowery hop profile. Clean fermentation. Soft maltiness. Large and healthy white head.
I dislike: Perhaps overly grainy, I’d prefer straight-up biscuitiness or just fresh, crisp pils malts. Here, crispiness passes unnoticed.

Yellow pour with a creamy white head and lace. Light malt with hints of corn. Medium malt with a light bitter. a tad thin and foamy. A very decent beer.

Tap @ brewpub #1 into a pint glass. Pours a completely clear yellow color with visible carbonation and a sticky lacing. Aroma is clean white bread maltiness. Takes a bit of a twist at the end with some light, low key, earthy hops. Taste is a crisp pils, not much more I can say... a bit doughy maybe. All in all a very nice pils, no flaws but nothing to distinguish it either. Surprised at some of the low ratings, must have gotten a fresh/good batch.

Draft at brewpub. Looks like a pilsner, with a floral, slightly grainy nose. Flavor is too sweet, with estery fruits and overwhelming floral notes. Some DMS, some graininess. Lacks the spiciness generally obtained from noble hops.
