Drjohnrock (94), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Dec 13, 2007 Draft sampler at Barleys Smokehouse (Ale houe #2). Clear Yellow color, thin body, zesty hops but with nice balance, overall flavor on the sweet side. good effort from Barleys.
beastiefan2k (1101), Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA Aug 9, 2008 Tap @ brewpub #1 into a pint glass. Pours a completely clear yellow color with visible carbonation and a sticky lacing. Aroma is clean white bread maltiness. Takes a bit of a twist at the end with some light, low key, earthy hops. Taste is a crisp pils, not much more I can say... a bit doughy maybe. All in all a very nice pils, no flaws but nothing to distinguish it either. Surprised at some of the low ratings, must have gotten a fresh/good batch. estoppel (1014), Buffalo, New York, USA Jul 31, 2008 Draft at brewpub. Looks like a pilsner, with a floral, slightly grainy nose. Flavor is too sweet, with estery fruits and overwhelming floral notes. Some DMS, some graininess. Lacks the spiciness generally obtained from noble hops. Sammy (3041), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 18, 2008 A little Saaz-type aroma in there. A bit of malt in taste, some lace, straw colour, medium mouthfeel. Not too hoppy, approachable and drinkable as all of their beers. Average pils. brentfeesh (903), Gadsden, Alabama, USA Dec 27, 2007 Golden onion colored with a moderate head. Very light aroma. A bit nutty and biscuit like with a hint of sweetness. The flavor has bread and biscuit like grain with grassy and herbal hops. Semi-Dry. Drinkable but nothing exciting
