RCL (942), Boston, Massachusetts, USA Apr 29, 2006 Friggin’ fabulous. At least as good as the Stone and Two Hearted. Just an explosion of fruity hops. So tasty.
AleDude (22), USA Apr 13, 2008 Medium golden color with strong rye aroma. I thought the rye was a bit overpowering, but I can respect the quality of the beer -- on the particular day I tried it I just was not in a "rye" mood. sliffy (1930), Columbus, Ohio, USA Aug 17, 2007 On Firkin @ The Alehouse: (Listed as being "with Simcoe" not sure if this should be a separate entry or not) Pours a hazy peach color with a small loose white head. Aroma, spices, citrus, pine and some pale malts. Flavor, lots of grapefruit with some light piny notes, some rye, some spicy notes, juicy hop flavor, smooth with a nice bit of bitterness to it. Quite good. DrHomolka (568), Columbus, Ohio, USA Aug 14, 2007 From the firkin at the alehouse. Pours yellow/light golden with a nice white head. Aroma is powerful blast of sweet, citrusy hops. Taste is smooth, bitter, hoppy, sweet, and grainy. Nice complexity. Certainly one of the best rye beers I’ve had. This one hit the spot. Excellent. jayg (976), Florida, USA Mar 24, 2007 On cask at brewpub. Straw color with a nice thick white head that leaves behind lacing. Clean mild citrus hop aroma. Palate medium-bodied, but expected more body from the rye. Mild hop bite to begin, which lingered a bit after the taste. Pretty good, would’ve liked more body. edden (877), cow- lumbus, Ohio, USA Feb 19, 2007 2/19/07: On cask @ Alehouse #1. Fresh hop aroma of citrus and fir tree. Body is a murky apricot color with a creamy almond colored head. Tranquil. Lace clings a bit to glass. Fresh hop flavor – citrus (grapefruit) and pine needles. Creamy finish. Love the hop freshness…
