COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named after the patron saint of Barley's, this is a big Imperial Stout that pushes alcohol to the State limit of 12%. If you can get it in the cask or firkin, you'll be experiencing the joy of barrel-contioned ale--conditioned in a retired Jack Daniel's barrel. Perfect autumn sipping ale.

12-oz. bottle hand-bottled by moejuck, thanks Joe. Pours opaque with almost no head, some edgy off-white head. Aroma is leathery yeast, lactose, chocolate and caramel nutty malt (cookie) with a vanilla nose. Medium sweetness, caramel and chocolate malt, vanilla, medium acidity and bitterness, milky chocolate malt and leathery yeast flavor. Full bodied and velvety, smooth palate.

Pours a deep brown/black with a nice thick tan head. Malt taste of coffee and a hint of chocolate. Solid stout where the 12% ABV could sneek up on you. Very drinkable. draft at brewpub

Cask at the brewhouse. Black with a tan head. Smooth, milky, oatmeal, nice alcohol kick and very smooth. Easy to drink. Nice.

draft- hot, hot, heat. certainly has the roast as well, but plenty thin, and not really a super enjoyable drinking experience. Maybe the jamaican jerk wings had something to do with it.

T3. Nose is sweet and musty. Stone fruit. Taste is overly fruity and creamy. Bleh. Not my favorite.

Bomber at Toncatcher’s T3. Pours an amber-brown color with a small beige head. The aroma was sweet with brown sugar, malts and something vegetable. The taste was much better than the nose, there was a good chocolate base with sweet malts and some red wine. The mouthfeel was full and smooth. Overall: A very tasty RIS, would like to try a bit more of this when I’m sober.

Served from a bottle at toncatchers T3 tasting! Thanks to stefanje, lagunitasfan, weeheavysd, fordest, wetherel, alohac and of course toncatcher for suppling the house and grub. Thanks to Jon for bringing this in a GROWLER!!! Jeez would have liked a bigger sample. I only got an oz. Just kidding. A pretty good Imperial Stout.

Growler, yeah its a growler, from bgurdman 9. Pours black with a tan ring. Nose is sweet and malty and light. Taste is sweet and malty, and hot hot hot. Its pretty good overall. The rating and its numbers don’t make sense, don’t trust my brain i’ll do my best to explain i don’t get it.

One of my all-time favorite beers. Haven’t had it in a while, but I’m worried because I’ve had some bad batches of beers I love from these guys recently. Black pour with a thin beige head. Malty aroma with coffee, chocolate and some alcohol. You really have to let it warm to get much in the nose. Malty flavor with alcohol and chocolate with a coffee finish. Great beer.

Cask at Barley’s Smokehouse. Opaque deep brown - with the barest of mahogany notes, a persistent foamy tan head. Tar, malt, and a little alcohol. Most unique Imperial I’ve had in quite some time. The traditional notes are there - roasted malts, tar, and coffee - buried somewhere in the middle. The overwhelming note is somewhat acidic and reminiscent of a strong wine. Ends with a bit of an alcohol note (although very subdued). Very interesting and tasty - although not you’re traditional flavor for and Imp. Stout.
