COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our newest offering is comfortably working away in the fermenter. It’s an "imperial porter." We’ve put a twist on our hugely popular porter, Ivan Porter, by turbocharging it. Fittingly, we call it Twisted Ivan Double Porter. Never too much of a good thing when it comes to beer, eh?

Growler from bgburdman9 - thanks! Dark brown color with a rich chocolatey aroma that features a wonderful balance of fruit, coffee, and candy. Flavor has just the right mix of chocolate, roast, coffee, cream, hops, and fruit to make it a classic. Truly the best example of the style I’ve had.

Draft at MRAF 2009. Pours black color with a moderater frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Heavy toasted dark chocolate and caramel aroma. Medium to full body with a thick smooth texture and flat carbonation. Heavy dark chocolate bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of long duration. This is a standout porter.

Firkin version at Barley’s 7th Annual Mini RAF (05/02/09): The beer pours blackish-brown and has a medium and foamy tan head that diminishes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Roasty malt aroma with notes of chocolate and coffee. Rich, dry body with flavors of chocolate malt, coffee and hops. The finish is roasted coffee and malt with a hoppy aftertaste. Enjoyable all around.

Draft@ Barleys Pours a deep dark brown with decent tan head. This one laced well. Had nice aromas of chocolate, caramel, coffee, alittle roast, and some vanilla. Has a good carbination. The moutfeel is excellent. Has a good blending with just a touch of alcohol burn. Haswondedrful flavors. Let this one sit a while to get all the flavors to appear. Has a watery but dry texture and a full body. Has a good finish. These guys make some quality beer.

From a growler, 1hr fresh, thanks Pud! Sad that I tried this from a growler, from a place 15min away. Pours dark brown, with a medium tan colored head. Aroma is choclate, caramel, vanilla. Flavor is choclate, coffee, vanilla, caramel, roast. Palate is full bodied, medium to mild carbonation, finished sweet initially then bitter. One of the best from Barley’s!

On tap at the Alehouse. Dark brown pour with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, licorice, roasted malts, vanilla. Flavor was caramel, roasted malt, dark chocolate, dark fruits. Fairly thick body, roasty, bittersweet. Never thought this was 11%, nice masking job.
