Bottle that my dad brought along to a family party, near Pontadarwe, Wales 20.08.11 Pours black, soft in mouth, light roastiness, touch of sourness (but not in a bad way) tangy plum skins, some hops coming through. Never had anything from this brewery before but this weren’t bad. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Cask at GBBF 2010. A pitch black beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt as well as lighter notes of soy sauce. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, leading to a dry and roasted finish.

Cask @ GBBF 2010. Pours a dark brown color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty caramel and weak chocolate aroma. Fruity roasted malty caramel and licorice flavor. Has a roasted malty caramel finish.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2010, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.
Clear dark black brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, burnt. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average duration, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100804]

(Cask at GBBF, London Earl’s Court, 4 Aug 2010) Dark brown colour, almost black, with foamy beige head. Roasted, malty nose with coffee, chocolate and dark fruit. Roasted, malty taste with notes of dark fruit, coffee, chocolate, liquorice and a roasted, ashy finish with a generous bitterness. Medium body, dry. Solid and tasty stout. Very nice.

Some roast aroma. Black a little rich on the palate fruity and hoppy with a hint of bitterness in a burnt roast finish.

Cloudy dark brown beer with no head. No carbonation in the light dry palate. Rich malt - a little roasty and tangy. Finishes over dry.

Cask@GBBF2010. Deep ambery brown colour, close to black, with not too much head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malts and some dark fruityness. Flavour is roasted malts, liquorice, some coffee, caramel and wood as well.
