First and foremost, 3 cheers to CaptainFlurries to making this fine specimen available to me. Nose was fragrant with lots of spiced apples. Pour was the classic cider with very little head which quickly fizzed awa. Light amber in color. Smooth drink with no bitter still aftertaste. A little sweet, but so much it would disappoint someone who enjoys the traditional english variety. Over all not bad. Glad I took the effort to have a chance to sample it. Good luck finding it in the states!

Extream carbonation. As far as ciders go it does have good flavour. I didn't notice the alcohol content at all in the taste. Sweet apples.

UPDATED: JUN 28, 2004 (bottle) Like the 4 pack. Six would be too many. Pours a golden body. Tart nose, far more than most I have reviewed. Flavours of sweet apples. Like bottling apple pie. Light on alcohol but better than most.

I don’t know why this particular Cider is so low in ratings! This cider is EXCELLENT served chilled. It’s also a good idea for those who don’t quite enjoy beer and who don’t enjoy spirits. I find Barn Owl to be a nice neutral party drink! I used to be a Strongbow drinker but after drinking Barn Owl...Strongbow tastes like piss! For something with a stronger taste, and thicker texture, try Barn Owl...I think you might like it. ;)

Apple aroma, amber, no head. Soapy apple taste. Harsh, ordinary.

Had this at the winery in St. Jacobs Mennonite country, which is a treat in itself. They served samples of this both hot and cold. I must say that I enjoyed it far more when heated. Tart aroma and spicy, appley body. Too sweet for my tastes, but a decent cider. I concur that this is far superior than the Strongbow.

Complex, rich apple aroma; balanced, very fruity palate - influenced by sulphites and bubblegum yeast notes. Far better either Waupoos or Strongbow.
