Cask conditioned at Sands, Grange over Sands, Cumbria. Amber colour with foamy head. Smooth malty beer, quite puddingy in character but with a malty dryness, easy drinking but quite understated. Short finish with a taint of hop. Ok.

3.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Gazza (726) - Worcester, Worcestershire, ENGLAND - APR 2, 2004
Another amber brew with a creamy head, typical Northern appearance. Faint malty nose which doesn't prepare you for the flavour at all. Very tasty with juicy maltiness, quite bitter and some hop taste too. The finish is the best bit, being bitter, very fruity and malty and lasting a long time - all the way back to the hotel in fact! Good stuff. (sampled on cask in the Bowling Green, Wigan, UK)
