Cask (handpump) @ Rat & Ratchet (Ossett), 40 Chapel Hill, West Yorkshire, Huddersfield Road, HD1 3EB.
Clear medium to dark red brown color with a average to large, creamy to frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, nutty, overripped apple, earthy - damp stain notes, anis notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100119]

Cask. A golden beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, leading to a dry finish where the caramel note lingers.

Cask. Clear dark amber golden with a creamy beige head. Nutty nose. Light body, flat, nuts and burned caramel with a lightly bitter finish. 190110

Pint pulled at the Hart’s Head Hotel in Giggleswick (Yorkshire), took a long time to settle to its clear brown colour body with a large off-white foamy head. A strong malty aroma with caramal and a strong presense of hops as well. I found the palate a little watery, but it did have an interesting sweet malt flavour that became mroe earthy through the swallow. A good bitterness all the way through as well.

A Sim rate (cask up the Junction): Flavour is chocolate and coffee and a little like a porter. Appearance is ruby red with little lacing. Nice and subtle flavour. Slightly bitter finish but nice overall.
