Fat, Drunken Duck Inn, Cumbria, UK. Mörkröd med snygg krona. Doft av melass och kola, även tydlig melass i smaken, Bra, hyggligt bitter avslutning. Kvalitetsöl.

Cask at GBBF 2010. A brown beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of malt as well as hints of butter. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and chewy toffee, leading to a dry, bitter, and citrusy finish.

Bottle from Booth’s. Copper with a fine white top. Muted aroma with some light muscovado, toffee and Allsorts notes waking up. Drinks silky with malt fullness; caramel-spread oak, marzipan, milk choc, faint husk and roast. Well made, full, savoury and very slightly dull bitter. But I’m digging the oak.

3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 wheresthepath (1285) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - APR 28, 2010
[Cask at the Cumberland Hotel, Alston] Smells almost stout-like, with coffee and malt aromas. Flavour gives toffee followed by a leafy, hoppy bitterness that doesn’t sit well with the pleasant aroma. Disappointing.
