(swing top bottle, purchased at the brewery a couple of days ago) Hazy, golden colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Wheat-malty and yeasty aroma with phenolic clovy spices and a moderately fruity touch of bananas. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Present wheaty base with a milky touch, banana and a whiff of barnyard and cloves; sweet and minimally sourish wheat-malty finish with notes of banana and hints of vanilla in the aftertaste. Obviously the days of bad-bottling are gone. 27.X.11

It’s unclear golden with a creamy, white head. The aroma has perfumed notes of fruit, banana and berries. The flavour is sweet with notes of banana, yeast, wheat and banana peal, and the finish is dry. It’s very mild, but still OK.

Bottle 500ml. w. swing top.

Murky medium yellow orange colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light malty, wheat, moderate yeasty, banana, butter, overripped banana, yeast, glue notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet with a average to long duration, fruity, sweet banana, overripped banana, warm banana. Body is medium, texture is creamy to oily, carbonation is soft. [20110504]

Bottle. Cloudy orange colour. Low carbonation. Wheaty aroma. Very fresh, very acidic taste. Never experienced such acidic, sour finish. And it’s absolutely outstanding and recommendable. Great Weizen!

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a cloudy, pale golden with a small, white head. Lightly tart citrus nose. Medium body, some phenol and citrus and a distinct underlying tartness suggesting that this is another infected Barnikel beer. 091106

An unclear yellow beer with a collapsing and lazing white head. The aroma is wheaty and malty with light notes of dusty hops. The flavor is wheaty and citrusy, with a dusty hops character, leading to a dry wheaty end. OK, but nothing special.

Pale yellow with greenish shine; small but good off-white head, leaving some lace. Very lactic nose, and blind I would swear Brett smells! Uncharacteristic Weizen, smells like a Peeterman, former unspiced witbier from Leuven. Wheat, milk-ripe grain or wheat; milky, lactic point of acidity. Yeast has a large impact on the characteristics. Very dry, medium bodied, wheat & grist slickness. Uncharacteristic, as said. The smell is terribly intrigueing.

Slightly herbal, yeasty aroma with mandarin and glue in the just a bit herbal flavor. First class thirst quencher. Thinnish. Great summer beer, a distant relative of a lambic.
