3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DruncanVeasey (5138) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, - JUN 7, 2009
Bottle. Misty straw with a thin but persistent white film. Sweet aroma balancing beeswax, chlorine, orange and conifer. Slick but not overpoweringly honeyish, solid sprucey hop and bitterness to balance. Decent orange tang and pine, noble hoppage. Afters corn based snacks; a bit mushy but plenty of hop presence for a budget honeyed effort, with clean bready malt and yeast. Bittersweet, balanced, OK.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 24, 2012
Brown 500ml bottle (could well be a re-badged version of Bubble Beer by the same brewery?). Best before 14th May 2010, drank 20th Feb 2010: poured into my vase shaped ’Old Speckled Hen’ pint glass.
Very lively and very, very pale gold in colour. A huge foaming white head was produced as I poured the beer, only half the bottle could get in there was so much of a head, plus it wouldn’t shrink away! The first few sips were like trying to drink through a frothy milkshake.
Different local honeys, with four seasonal blooms are used in the brew, hence the flowery, honey scented aromas given off.
Tasted like a lager/pilsner to me at first, wasn’t expecting that at all. I think the colour and brightness of the beer fooled my eyes and tastebuds, because as the beer warmed and I got used to it, the feel and flavours changed. The sediment in the bottom of the bottle also helped to alter the taste of the beer somewhat. The third and final pour brought those out, giving a more yeasty feel and flavour to the last few sips. Before the sediment was added to the glass delicate and understated unsweetened honey flavours came into being and a hop bitterness arrived towards the end as the mouth dried.
Tangy, sharp and refreshing, a sunny day beer, today it is sunny for a change(but only just above freezing outside).
I am begining to like this cheap bottled beer companies products, all at just over £1.00 each they deliver a great choice and some well made beers.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 weaselkenievil (1093) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - SEP 16, 2009
Bottle from B&M, Macclesfield. Murky yellow gold with thin dissapearing head. Well, the honey is in there. Along with some apples and other fruit, bit dusty, little malt presence with a sharp bitter hop finish.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 RichardW (929) - Carlisle, Cumbria, ENGLAND - SEP 13, 2009
Bottle, B&M, Carlisle. Although the bottle doesn’t say so, this appears to be a BCA, with some trace sediment in the bottom.Has a disappointing yeasty astringency, but it does improve with drinking. Some citrus and flowery hops, but nothing special.

Bottle, from Rhythm & Booze in Barton. Gold, thin shortlived white head and gentle condition. Big sweet floral aromas with touches of pineapple and peach, quite full in the mouth with an initial honey note giving way to a solid hop bitterness before the honey notes return with a lingering floral sweetness, long finish with pleasant balance between the powdery hop bitterness and the floral honey sweetnes
