A complex combination of three different types of grain give a gorgeous brown ale with a slightly spicy aroma from the abundance of German hops.

500ml bottle. Pours slightly cloudy deep brown with absolutely no head. Fairly generic malty aroma. Robust malt is pretty well balanced with bitterness. A little smoke and toffee. Nothing particularly special but an enjoyable brown ale.

Bottled 30/07/14. A dark brown coloured beer with a white head and lace. A nutty earthy malty beer. Old fashioned brown ale. A decent bit of chocolate and woodiness. Nice enough.

Bottle from B&M. Chestnut ale with a fading cream head. A pretty basic malty beer. Some toast and fruitiness with just a hint of spice. Ok.

Bottle from B&M. Copper in colour with next to no head and little by way of carbonation. Sweet caramel, doughy malts, a trace of leafy hop and gentle, brown sugar finish. Inoffensive drinking.

Light brown, thin head. Eggy choc, light enough malt. Flat bitter, thin and a foamy flick on the finish. Peppery crunch, tinny and chained up battery licking linger. No great.

500ml bottle from b&m. Really awful branding on the bottle. Colour is deep brown with a small head. Aroma is nutty with a little grassy. Taste is similar with a hop finish.

Appearance: Clear copper with 2 finger thick ivory head. Aroma: Toffee/butterscotch, mineral, spicy, rye. Taste: Medium bitterness and low/medium sweetness with low sourness. Palate: Thick grainy texture, light body, average carbonation, bitter sweet , slightly dry, spicy, slight butterscotch with burnt/roast malts. Cereal smell and taste I cannot place it could be a combination of barley and Rye. Comments: Tasty and glass lace.

Pours flat. Dark brown with a hint of red. Has an aroma of bread and fruit and has a dark rich fruit flavour. If it had a head it would be a decent beer!
