RATINGS: 5 MEAN: 2.26/5.0 WEIGHTED AVG: 2.38 ABV: - COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION The Munich Lager is a traditional Bavarian Helles. It is a medium to deep gold colored beer with a creamy white head. It is slightly sweet with just enough hop bitterness to produce a very balanced beer. The finish and aftertaste remains malty and clean. Unlike Pilsner it is a malt-accentuated beer that is not overly sweet, but rather focuses on malt flavor with underlying hop bitterness in a supporting role. It is characterized by rounded maltiness without heaviness. This style was created in 1895 at the Spaten brewery to compete with Pilsner-style beers.
