troopie (550), USA Dec 14, 2007 Draught. Poured pale gold with wonder malty and floral aroma. Lekker malty flavour with a hoppy tang. Lovely hoppy finish. This is a great pilsener. Svejk (11), Washington, USA Jan 14, 2007 Baron Pils is my "go to" beer. It is pretty widely available at most of my local pubs, and if I can’t decide what to get, then I go with this beer. If it’s a hot day (which is pretty rare in Seattle), I’ll order a Baron Pils every time.
The best part about Baron Pils is that it has a very clean flavor. Sometimes craft brewers have trouble doing pilsners well, and I’ve had more than a few skunky pilsners. That definitely isn’t the problem at Baron. This beer is always dead-on. beermatrix (1497), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Oct 2, 2006 Pale light lemon gold. Small stark white head of starchy foam. Tiny dot and thin string of lace coat the glass lightly.
Aroma is of Hallertua hops and Bavarian bread grain and quite light, but distinctly Pilsner.
Taste is solid for a Pils, nice snappy bread grain taste with a capping touch of dryish flour, herbal/spicy hops, and a nice crispy tone. Simple, clean, and fresh with a steady, firm grainy/bready taste. Hops keep an interesting balance of dryness with evident Hallertau and perhaps some Saaz snappyness too.
Feel is firm, smooth, clean, and crisp with about a medium body and steady grab of carbonation. Finish is subtle with a nice mixure of dry grains and herbal hops as it floats off leaving a nice texture and pleasingly easy grained aftertaste. 5000 (2401), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA Jul 18, 2005 Draught @ mattbob’s place: Very pale yellow, clear, huge white pilowy head, light carbonation, very sticky lacing. Pale malt nose, oats, grassy. Soft malt up front, somewhat sweet, very grassy... smooth. Seems fairly big in body and mouthfeel for a pilsner. Very subtle hop presense at the exit. Very enjoyable, clean, crisp, and probably one of the better Baron beers I have had.

DA (2586), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Oct 3, 2007 A lot of character packed into this beer, just a well crafted brew. Pours bright gold with a soft white head. Grassy big hop nose with a bready and crisp flavor and light strawn flavor in the finish. This pils isn’t sulfery like many, instead getting spicy and lemony finish. One of the best NW pilsners i’ve had.
