On tap at baileys. Hazy amber with minimal head. I love cheese but why does this beer smell like a smokey Gouda? Ohno! It tastes like munster! Why someone would make this smokey cheesey beer is beyond me.

Bottle. Pours pale gold with a white head. Smokey aroma with some almost charcoal-like notes, and light sweet malty notes. Nice.

Bottle. I don’t know... I loved this. Pours a clear gold with minimal white head. Aroma is full of bacon fat. Damn is this smoky deliciousness! Tastes like liquid bacon fat with a touch of oak. Basically liquid bacon, if I haven’t said that yet. They really nailed it!

Bomber. Lightly hazy, light gold with a small creamy topping. Aroma of smoke and a hint of lemon. Flavor is the same, with maybe some dry grass and wheat flour. Smoke dominates at first, but the lemon hop and yeast battle back to provide nice balance later in the bottle. Light-medium body is tingly and refreshing. I prefer heavier smoked beers, but this one isn’t bad.

22 oz bottle. Clear amber with a medium sized off white head. Aroma of meaty smokey malt and some bread dough. The flavor is acidic smoke with some sweet malt, light bitterness. Medium body with average carbonation and a nasty meaty finish. Not a big fan of this, the aroma is good but the taste is bad. The smoke is harsh and acidic.

Sledutah (1898) - Utah, USA - SEP 1, 2010
22oz bottle from The Grapevine in Pocatello
Appearance: Pours clear yellow/golden with a nice white head and some lacing left in the glass
Aroma: Smokey, spices and sweet malts
Taste: Smoked malts, bready, grainy and some hop bitterness in the finish
Easy drinkability. A nice smoked beer. It has plenty of smokey aroma and flavor but not over the top.

Nena (957) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 17, 2010
UPDATED: JUL 19, 2010 Bottled. Light golden pour with a moderate white head. The aroma is pretty subdued for a smoked beer, but it smells a little sweetly malty, with a bit of bacony smoke. This is pretty light bodied, slightly watery. The character begins with mildly sweet malt with a bit of a metallic character, moving to the smoke after. Near the finish there’s a mild cheesey whey off-taste. The overall impression upon sipping is one of watery bacon, not terrible but not exactly what I was looking for.

22 oz bottle from Spirits Red Bank. Poured a golden straw body with an average sized bright white foamy head. Aroma of smoke, an odd sweet note and smoked grains. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavors of weak smoke, stale bread and old apricots. Not a huge fan of this one.

Gold in color with a decent sized white head. Aroma is of smoke and light cheese funk. Taste is sweet and smokey...then acidic.
