On tap. POured a dark ruby color with a light white head. Smelled of toasted malts and malts. Tasted a bit watered down but still had a good nutty, toasted maly backbone.

22 oz bomber. Beautiful look on this beer. Nice head, leaving a bit of lace, but all the niceness ended after that. Flat, cardboardy taste that couldn’t be blamed on bad tap lines. Thin, watery... hate to say it, but a macro would taste better than this. A real disappointment.

22oz: Pours a nice dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma wasnt too strong, it has notes of fruit, malts, raisin and yeast. Flavor was right on, perfectly crisp with a creamy palate. And traces of nut, fruit, plum and chocolate. A vey well made beer. I would buy again.

GCBF. Poured a nice dark roasty colour. Looked really appetizing with it’s small ring of white head. Nice malty smell, with a touch of acid tang. Taste was somewhat disappointing, with the malt flavour being dominated with phenolic and off flavours. Dusty taste, like the keg hadn’t been cooled....EVER. Glah. Too bad, it looked and smelled great. I hope it was just this batch....
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 ebowman (11) - Seattle, Washington, USA - AUG 16, 2008
On tap at Palace Kitchen in Seattle, WA - Pours very dark/black wthout much head. Aroma of cola/caramel. The taste itself is unremarkable and leaves a lot to be desired given the nice aroma.

22 oz bomber. Deep ruby brown, no head (might have been an older beer). Slight chocolate notes give a decent body but lack of carbonation robs it of any bite. A disappointment because its feels like there’s a good beer underneath.

Had on tap at Brouwers Cafe in Fremont. Nice black lager with good roast / chocolate / malt aroma. Toasty and sublte roast add to the malt sweetness. Nice clean malt finish, you can tell it was lagered. Good attempt at the style.
