COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Uber-Weisse is a traditional WeizenStarkbier. Similar to other wheat doppelbocks, this is high in alocohol and complex in flavor. Slights notes of roast, chocolate, banana and sweetness. 8.5% in strength. Very balanced with a big full body or wheat and malt. Very smooth and easy to drink.

Hazy muddy brown with a thin beige head. Aroma of roasted wheat, nuts, and some yeasty spice. Wheat malt, roasted malts, chocolate, a little acidity, and clove/banana. Also a touch metallic. Decent stuff here.

Cola colored with a fleeting khaki head. Nice tart wheat malt and multi grain bread smell. Medium body and smooth. Strong taste of caramel. wheat, and roasted malts here with a mild bitterness to finish. Not too sweet like many dopplebocks. Very easy drinking. 12207

Bottle: Aroma is moderately grainy with very faint notes of banana and chocolate. It pours sort of a muddy brown with a small off-white head. The flavor starts with lots of grain and faint chocolate with moderate sour fruit in the finish. Light-medium bodied with minimal carbonation and somewhat watery mouthfeel. Not very Weizen Bock-like.

Thanks 5000. Pours dead looking dark brown, whatever foam there is dissipates almost automatically. Aroma is spicy phenolics not backed up by anything else, comes off isopropanol like. Taste is light banana with a mineral finish. The body is way too thin and the beer comes off as a watered down mess. Could be nice with some body and a bit more backbone to the beer. It’s not undrinkable just badly crafted, could not drink much of it.
22oz bottle, St Paul tulip/snifter glass.

GABF ’07. Pours clear, dark yellow with a small, rocky, off-white head with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, hay, straw, roasted grain), light hops (grass), average yeast (dough, barnyard) with notes of banana. Light bodied, thin textured, average carbonation, and a metallic finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.

22. Pours brown, but in a wide enough glass it certainly looks black. Thin, dingy off-white head. Bold nose, especially for a lager: roasty, tangy cola-nutty, CO2, a little bit of sweet brown bread. The CO2 gives it what in a less generous moment I sometimes refer to as "that lager smell."
Medium body and lightly tingly carb. All the olfactory notes return right from the jump--the attack’s loaded with the bread, nuts, roast, and metallic co2ishness. They carry right through the mid-palate and leave in a light wash of cola sticking to the back of the tongue. Not quite what I had been led to believe. Not sure I’d come back to this one, even though it’s a big, bold, fairly interesting beer with no obvious flaws.
