COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Žatecko je kraj, ve světě proslulý svým jedinečným chmelem. Právě žatecký chmel dává žateckým pivům jejich nezaměnitelný charakter. I proto byl Žatec po staletí bohatým královským městem. Žatecký chmel a slad, vyrobený z místního ječmene, byly vždy zárukou dobrých várek piva. 12.7°

Bottle: deep golden coloured, small but lacing white head; sweet pale-malty nose with a taste of honey and a faint touch of aromatic Saaz hops; medium bodied, moderate sweet bitter flavour; sweetish, malty, honeyishj finish with a delicate bitterness. (Adopted from the defunct brewry of Litomerice/Leitmeritz and named after the baroness (baronka in czech language) Ulrike von Lewetzow, Goethe’s last platonic love, whom he met in the bohemian spa of Marienbad/Marianske Lazne......)

Bottle 50 cl. Clear and handsomely deep golden with a small white head. Sweet diacetyl aroma. Medium body, sweet malt, flowery hops and a whiff of metal. Some sulphur as well. The finish is dry. Doesn’t appear fresh even if it’s 7 months prior to best before! 100312

OleR (3648) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 27, 2011
0.5 L bottle bought @Pivoňka, Hradec Králové. Plain golden, with a hazy shade. Low dense blond head. Initial aroma of sweet bakery and malt drops, offset by a whiff grassy hops and a faint milky sourness. Sweet malt drops in the flavor as well. Also some spiced caramel, and a fair amount of earthy bittering hops. Medium body strenght. Slick in the mouth. Fairly low carbonation level. Sweet, peppery malt drops ending. Drinks ok, but too far on the sweet side to be moreish.

draft, prague beer museum. here early in the day i’m told it’s the best beer they have at the moment and when i come back later that night i hear the same thing. okay, let’s go. fffuuuuu. ck. clear gold, fluffly white head, appropriate for czech lager. nose is clean and bright cracker malt with soft, mild delicate yeast esters and acid. carbonation is loose and fizzy, texture is a bit rough and minerallic. flavor is your basic biscuit malt, lightly sweet with plastic notes (twangy). something seems off. definitely NOT the best beer on tap at your bar, guys.

Bottle 500 ml
Aroma mild mineral feel , light hopping , mild grainy touches. 6-
Appearance clear dark gold with medium fine creamy top. Sparse lace.3+
Flavor and Palate : Medium bodied. Generic feel , not most refined malt work. Rather high on carbonation that makes hops bit rough. This might noted under generic Pilsner than Bohemian. With name in brewery as Zatec this is a shame.

Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 4, 2011
Mild herb-süßer Antrunk. Angenehm herbe intensität, leider etwas zu süß. Könntewürziger sein, etwas schal wirkend. Im Abgang eher lasch, die Süße besteht auch mit leichter Herbe weiter. Test vom 28.8.2008, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 8,7,7,8,7,7
