Bottle. Poured a clear dark orange color. The head was one finger high and off white. Smelled of caramel and hay. Medium bodied and sweet without any significant bitterness. Caramel, toffee, and subdued earthy hops.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear deep amber, nice tan head, some lacing. Aromas of malt and spice and something else I can’t place. Taste of caramel and dough. Different, but not necessarily in a good way.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Amber brown in color. Wheat, malted barley, dark chocolate, and hazelnut aromas. Earthy flavor, nutty, with a bubbly tingle, hazelnut and a mildly bitter finish.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
This is an interesting beer that is taking a uniquely Australian angle on a pretty normal Amber ale. The beer is quite dark copper in colour and the aroma has good malt aroma with that typical Aussie bush smell to it. Its hard to identify wattle per se, but I dont think I’ve ever seriously smelt wattle. A nice quite full beer that would be good with food.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
330ml bottle. Pours a clear, dark amber, with minimal head. The aroma is strongly influenced by the addition of wattle seed, with hints of coffee. The initial flavour is a mixture of strong malt and a hint of bitter hops. This moves into a rich, dark flavour, dominated by wattle seed, but with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. The finish is complex, chocolate malt. A lovely example of Australian craft brewing. The addition of Australian native ingredients is inspired, and results in a delicious beer.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Had from bottle from Total Wine and More. Pours a deep brownish-red with no head and slight lacing. Aromas of malt, sugar, and alcohol. Flavors seem a bit off - more malts, fruits, nuts, and sugar. As the beer warmed, oddly enough, I thought it got better. It seemed to really bring out the roasted flavors with a subtle finish with hints of chocolate and lingering alcohol. However, when all was said and done, the wattle seed seemed to be more of a gimmick than an acceptable flavor to put in beer.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured from bottle. Pungent nose; I get dough, spice (ginger?), figs, apples, and a slight floral edge. Head is pillowy and long-lasting. Pours a hazy light brown with slight gold overtones. A lot of dark flavors on this one; licorice, molasses, soy, and again I get a faint echo of ginger-heat. Mouthfeel is prickly, with notable carbonation. Damned if I know what a wattle seed is, but I like it.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice choclatey smell. This is quite a smooth beer, full flavoured, with hints of chocolate, coffee and nuts. I am curious as to which elements are a result of the wattle seed. It’s pretty heavy, it wouldn’t make a very good session beer. This is something I would more likely drink with a nice peice of meat.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle pours deep amber brown with a thin khaki head. Aroma is definately malt driven with caramel, toast, almonds, and hazelnuts. Flavor shows the same, with another one of those hard to place berry scents. I can only assume that it’s coming from the wattle seed, but I can’t say for sure as I’ve never come across wattle seed anywhere else. Overall body is light to moderate. Starts lightly sweet and finishes dry with almost no real bitterness in sight. Maybe i’m just lupulin saturated.
