Pours a clear red-brown color with a medium sized tan head that dissipated quickly. Aroma is of caramel and spice. Flavor is of malty, of caramel, a little roasted coffee, and spice... maybe aniseed, or coriander maybe? slightly sweet. Very smooth and goes down well. Enjoyable.

Oct 6, 2008 Bottle shared by durhambeer - thanks, Bob! Fruity, dark orange, with a modest head. I confess to not knowing what watte seed was prior to reading about the beer I’d aready consumed. But my taste told me that this was an average red ale with sweet malts and a trace of sour mixed in with some chocoate, honey, and nut flavors.

Oct 5, 2008 Rich brown clear pour, off white head. Distinctively odd sour malty aroma. Nutella (chocolate and hazelnut). Some Bit O’Honey and bitter toffee. Some wattle seed, I guess, that adds a distinctively roasty nut/seed taste. Interesting.

Oct 3, 2008 Pours a red copper with a thin fizzy light tan head. The nose is nutty, earthy, sweet, malty, lightly spiced. The flavor is malty, sweet, earthy, nutty/grainy malt, light leafy hops, some bitter bite. The wattle seed comes through a little bit but definitely isnt overpowering.
