dmac (880), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Apr 25, 2008 11.2 oz bottle purchased at Oak Tree. Pours a clear orange/amber with a huge foamy off white head. Aroma of honey, toffee, biscuit and nutts. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Bitter flavor of nutts, grain and cereal. Unfortunately the flavor was not as strong or good as the aroma, average at best.
mabel (1662), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 25, 2008 [1631-20080824] 330mL bottle. Grainy sweet aroma has a slight unidentifiable oddness to it. Hazy, amber brown body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Grainy malty yeast flavour has some overly sweetened maple characteristics. Medium body. Fair.
(w/ jerc) jerc (3210), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 24, 2008 2008-08-24. Amber body with a modest foamy off white head. Lightly musty aroma, earthy, muted hops. (5+) Flavour is very mild, earthy English malts, light bitterness throughout. Average palate is smooth. Pretty standard average English style bitter. Bit of a rough edge that I am not loving. Bottle from Mabel’s Seattle trip. Beershine (1440), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Aug 4, 2008 Updated: Aug 6, 2008Bottle. Clear amber with off-white head, disappears without a trace. Sweet caramel, banana, apple, bubblegum aroma. Thin and watery. Soft carbonation, light fizziness but smooth. Metallic and brassy and sweet too. Sweet entry with lots of caremalized malts, finishing with some roasted malts and whisper of hops. BückDich (4558), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 18, 2008 Bottle: Copper color with light white color and a very sticky lacing. The nose is fruity with green apples and light caramel malt. The flavor is lightly toasty with a mute caramel note. Some metallic notes in the finish and an overall mute experience. Like a cookie without salt. Guinness4Duff (464), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA Jul 12, 2008 Bottle. Amber pour with a thick white head. Has a sweet caramel malt aroma with some hop spice. Has a roasted flavor with a bitter hop finish. Not bad.
