The beer looks good enough, amber with a nice head. The aroma though is weak with just a hint of malt and a little caramel.. The flavor is malty sweet with a bit of fruit. Very little bitterness. Feels a bit watery. Not my favorite.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 dwyerpg (3575) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - MAY 28, 2011
This also had a nice fruity aroma. A bit and darker and a bit more hops and less fruit in the body than the lager. A nice session beer.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Maris (543) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - AUG 14, 2010
From a 330ml bottle on 15/8/2010. Has a quite unusual aroma of fruit, nuts, and burnt toffee. Begins with sweet malt and caramel flavours and finishes off with a decent and quite long, slightly spicy hop finish. A serviceable bitter which rates streets ahead of their pale ale.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Mjollnir (335) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - AUG 10, 2010
330mL bottle. Pours slightly hazy gold with a thin head that settles to a ring. Nice aroma of honey, caramel, biscuit and some grass and citrus. Medium sweetness and bitterness with a malty, toasty and mineral-like flavour. Light-medium bodied, average carbonation with a lingering finish.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 ComradeK (526) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - JUN 6, 2010
330ml bottle. Pours a hazy red-amber, with a minimal head. The aroma is a mixture of subtle coffee and sweet malt. There is a strong leafy and citrus hops flavour to begin, which segues into a smooth, lingering malt and chocolate finish. A reasonable interpretation of the style, yet not quite up to the standard of a proper English bitter.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 BeerChaser0078 (880) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JAN 7, 2010
Bottle. Pours clear amber with a foamy white head that lasts a while. Aroma is mainly grainy with hints of caramel and honey. Flavour is grainier still: biscuity, cerealy, malty, with some subtle hop bitterness. Watery mouthfeel and very high carbonation don’t help things. Pretty ordinary beer.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 5000 (4104) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - JAN 2, 2010
Bottle:   Amber in color, a really heavy and vibrant burnt orange hue, moderate off-white head, frothy, nice lacing, lively carbonation.   Looks the biz.   Malty nose, slight cereal, a touch grainy.   Meh,
average.   Nothing that entertaining.   Certainly no real hop character.   Quite cereal like on the tongue.   Exit yields a touch of cardboard.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Needs a bit more hop
character.   Not all that crisp for a bitter.   A little flat.   Not bad by any means, but an average brew at best.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 floydian1 (536) - FNQ, AUSTRALIA - NOV 29, 2009
Bottle (330ml). Copper-amber body with a film of lingering white head. Aromas of sweet caramel malts and fruity hops. Taste is moderately sweet malts balanced by a medium hop bitterness at the end of the palate. Medium-light bodied with an average carbonation. A run-of-the mill boutique Bitter.
2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 hawthorne00 (1434) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - NOV 25, 2009
Bottle. Orangey-brown, beige head. Mainly caramel aroma. Taste has lots of fruit sweetness with just about enough hops to balance, but certainly not enough for any lasting bitterness. Not special, but OK.
