330ml bottle, BB 28/08/08, served chilled. Bargain bin at local Dan Murphys store. Rosey gold body, collar of white foam. Some nice citrus fruit and floral hops on the nose, slight caramel malt sweetness in the background. Moderate carbonation, good caramel malt background with grassy hop bitterness balancing well. Some citrus fruitiness leading to a dry finish of medium bitterness. Not too bad, hard to know about the hops though.

bottled. simple clear golden with an ambivalent head; syruppy crystal malt aroma with faint grassiness; light caramel and tinned peach finish; nothing to get excited about

Barons Pale Ale has a thin, off-white head, and a cloudy, orange appearance, with tiny suspended particles floating throughout. The aroma and taste are of overripe, almost rotten, citrus fruit. There is also a flat cracker flavor in there, and a negligible hop profile. Mouth-feel is medium, and Barons finishes wet and unpleasant. This is not good, and I would never recommend giving it a try. RJT

Appearance- A nice golden color with a nice white head which dissapates quickly. Lacing is present but minimal. Smell- Musty and bready Taste- A nice refreshing, crisp clean taste. A slight off putting tin taste. Maybe the slightest hint of hops and malt sweetness is minimal. Mouthfeel- Crisp, clean carbonated medium body. Overall- Not a bad beer but not a great one either. Pretty average for a pale ale. I compare all Pale Ales to Sierra Nevada so it will fall short.

330ml bottle. Pours a clear amber gold, with a minimal head. The aroma is full of rich nutty malt. The initial flavour is mainly floral and pine hops, followed by a hint of apple and some caramel malt. A good interpretation of the style.

Bought this on a recommendation from a fellow home brewing club member. He thought the Sauvin hops were interesting. I have to agree. Unique beer. Watery feel with grapey aftertaste.

From a 330ml bottle on 3/1/2010. A rather lacklustre pale ale. No distinct nose, not particularly hoppy, and a bit too sweet. Not terrible but rather pedestrian.

Bottle:   Fiery golden, on the darker side, moderate to large frothy white head, nice lacing, very light carbonation.   Muted nose, very slight hop aroma at all.   Mainly cereal/mealy with a touch of cardboard.   This is barely a step up from the ESB in that it isn’t as cereal like but it also doesn’t have that much hop presense either.   Not anything like your West Coast Pale Ale.   Really muted, some honeycomb cereal flavors on the finish.   Has a bit of a sweet side that lingers.   Average in terms of body and mouthfeel.   Yeah, yawn...

ROGUE (1360) - Newark, Delaware, USA - OCT 30, 2009
12oz bottle. Poured a clear golden color with small white head that dissipated quickly. Has a very mild malt aroma. The taste is a little more flavorful than the aroma suggests, with some malt and citrusy hops in the finsih. An average pale ale that doesn’t really stand out.
