Canned, brewed by Guinness Anchor Berhad, Malaysia. Golden colour, no head. Aroma of petrol, mashed apples and cereals. Sweet and fizzy with raw mouthfeel. Somewhere between awful and horrible.

Golden color; thin head. Sweet aroma, some malt and alcohol. Thick; some malt, alcohol punch; well bitter; strong final. Not the worst amongst Strong Lagers.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Bottled. Pale yellow/orange larger. Sweet floral aroma that leaps out of the glass courtesy of the ethanol evaporating from the surface of the beer. Sweet and challenging flavour. Presented in a nice bottle and not an oversized can this beer just barely escapes the bagging that aggressively strong larger normally receive. Laughed at Sully’s rating. Purchased and consumed in KL.

1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
A very pale beer given the ABV. This looks exactly like an innocuous 4.5% lager. Slightly floral and citrus note that then hits you between the eyes when you take the first sip. This is a big beer that isn't as bad as some say. On the other hand it is NOT a session beer. The label indicates that it won a champion's trophy for International Strong Beer as voted by the Sial D'or in Paris (???) The competition must have been pretty poor, either that or the judges were grubby homeless men with the arse hanging out of their trousers.

1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
The people who buy this only drink this to get drunk faster cos' it's 8.8% strong. There's too much gas in it, and the overly sharp taste put me off immediately. This beer is like drinking stomach acid, you know the taste you get when you're puking during a really bad hangover? That's Baron's!

1.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bottle. I had this at a hawker center in Singapore. It was awful! Golden yellow with a big white head. The aroma had some hops. It was looking good at this point. What killed it for me was the overpowering and almost painful alcohol taste. It was a struggle to finish. Now the food, on the other hand, was fantastic. We had stingray and other treats.

1.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
OK, i saw this at singapore airport during my long (and painfull) 6 hour layover, and thought i’m bored, might as well give it a shot. Very sweet aroma, and horrifcly sweet on the palate, got things like peach and mango, but the alcohol killed everything to fast, bitterness on the finish aswell, which wasn’t due to hops, but alcohol. In the end too sweet, too much alcohol. Quite horrific in the end, made my stomach ache.
