Commercial Description:
In the early 20th century, Cincinnati was presided over by the strong armed political power broker George "Boss" Cox. Holding court high above an Over-The-Rhine saloon, "Boss" Cox's authoritative grip on the city could often be relaxed with a smoked sausage and a hearty brew. Our Double Dark IPA infuses a bold, delicious malty character with copious amounts of American and European hop bitterness. There's a new boss in town. Malts: 2-row, Munich, Carapils, and Caramel ;Hops: Cluster, Cascade, Czech Saaz ;Color: Ruby ;Food Complement: Steak, prime rib, venison, spicy dishes

20071025 Bomber. What’s it supposed to be, DIPA? Mild, not so hoppy. Thin but sweet. Piney late. Struck me as a bit weak.

coppery pour with a nice tan head. toffee, caramel and hops in the aroma. creamy, caramely with a hoppy, bitter finish. not a bad brew, but there is acertain flowerness that knocks it down form being a gerat brew.

Bottled. Poured cloudy brown, with a dense tan head. Malty nose and a roasty, malty taste, slightly sweet. Hopp, bitter finish, slight hint of alcohol. Flavorful, but certainly too sweet for the label’s claim of an IPA. An OK strong ale.

Bottle. Pours a deep amber with a thick caramel colored head. Very dark for and IPA. Aroma was hoppy and grapefruity. Taste was hoppy, bitter and quite sour. It was too sour almost a flemish style.

22. Pours opaque dark brown with a dense, towering, rocky tannish head. Plenty of lace on the way down. Big brown bread nose of spent grain, yeast, and grain husk. Medium, slightly creamy body, soft carb. Sour brown bread, yeast, toast, and a bit of bitter resin on the mid-palate. Mild resiny finish. Not a very well thought-out beer, though they clearly put some effort into this.

this bomber poured a dark carmel color. aroma is of malt and a little bit of pine notes. the taste is of pure sweet almost to sweet malt and almost no hop flavor. this is the first double dark ipa i have ever had being a hophead i won’t try this again!

Strong caramel aroma, with a hint of pine lurking behind it. Pours a clear ruby, with a healthy tan head. The taste starts with some sweetness, and a good blend of pine and caramel in the finish. Overall, for the price this is amazing.

Bomber. Dark amber pour with lasting thick and foamy tan head. Caramel and sweetness on the nose. More caramel in the flavor, followed up with some dark fruit, chocolate, and hop bitterness. Medium/full mouthfeel, a little chewy. Chocolatey/bitter finish that makes me want another pour. Great beer for a $3.99/bomber.
