A flavorful, robust beer with little after taste. Just discovered the 8.5% content. Never would have guessed it. I enjoyed several pints at Bostonís in Dayton, OH.

Pours orangish-brown wtih a white head. The aroma is malty with caramel and toffee. Flavor is full with maltiness, caramel, toffee, and the finish is full bodied.

Golden amber color with a creamy white head. This was a sweet beer with a caramel flavor and aroma. Pretty good overall.

Clearish orange-red body, thin off-white head. Big butterscotchy aroma that carries over into the flavor. Bready, caramely body with a touch of peat. The butterscotch component makes this beer taste like a Werthers candy. Medium-bodied, light carbonation. A pretty solid beer shared by John (JCW).

Bottle, from trade with JCW. Good nose, Little maple, molasses, toffee. Reminds me of a barley pop or the smell of mash. Clean orangy red color, nice head that faded. Sweet flavors, like the aromas little coffee in there, alot like mash. Little metallic bite in there. Medium body, oily creamy mouthfeel, sweet, some bitter bite, sticky finish. Man thatís a great beer. Unlike any Scotch ale Iíve had. None of that peaty earthy funk I associate with the catagory. Damn good. If this is 8.5% i canít notice. Thanks JCW

Mmmmm. This is a big ale in every way. Very nice. This one warms you up from deep down inside and has a nice kick. Great beer.

I agree with Dogbrick on this one. I go to Barrel House a fair amount and Iíve never been too impress. Scotchish Ales in general arenít my style, but I really liked this one. It was sweet with a heavy taste of barley. Big in alcohol, but I could in no why taste it. Excellent beer!

STRONG - wow. Thick consistency and flavor. A tough drink - high on the alcohol flavor.

Tasted at the Barrelhouse Brewing Company Microbrew Fest on November 9. Got this one out of the cask and it was excellent, one of the best BarrelHouse has to offer. Warm, flavorful presence. Rich and malty with a beautiful color.
