A decent brown ale with some dark character with a malt base with some mitts and deep malts. The beer has almost no hops. Still despite faults, it's tasty

11/26/12. 12oz bottle. Brown pour, more of a clear red under the light, under a small khaki head that fades fast and laces a touch. Slightly tangy and metallic malty aroma with hints of bread, burnt caramel, and nuttiness. Sweet, malty flavor again with a hint of tang and metal and some breadiness and caramel with a lingering nutty aspect... I hadn’t looked at the label until now, but I suppose that’s the hazelnut. Eh.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 freekyp (1411) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - NOV 10, 2012
Harris Teeter’s nut brown is better than expected, combining a nice earthy malt with a soft carbonation and nutty finish. A pretty pour, Barrel Trolley nut brown sports a fluffy off-white head and clear deep brown body. A bit of coppery metallic character shows in the otherwise pleasant finish, detracting from the overall appeal of the beer.
