This is surprisingly good. Has a definite hazelnut flavor but it isn’t too strong. The best of these barrel trolley beers.

Pours a dark brown w/ a tiny white head that leaves a little bit of lacing. The aroma is dominated by the hazelnut. The taste is nutty & smooth throughout. It’s nicely balanced & has a light creamy mouthfeel. A very solid beer that’s everything you would expect from a brown. Quite nice!

Aurelius (4034) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - SEP 29, 2012
Muted, tannic aroma. The foam smells doggy. Deep, clear ruby brown, big fluffy bone-colored head, standard US longneck, OK throwback label. Sweetish, clear gel and roast flavor. Unremarkable, but pretty clean drinking. Some tar and cherry in the finish. Medium body, slippery mouthfeel. ABC Liquors, Bull Run.

PorterPounder (5345) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - SEP 21, 2012
Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - 12 oz bottle. Dark copper pour, sticky off-white head that leaves plenty of lacing. Aroma has some brief nutty notes, some hard candy sweetness. Flavor has a hint of caramel, a touch of nuttiness, some back end metallic notes. Mouthfeel is a tad thin and tinny. Does in a pinch.

Bottle; poured a darkish cola type brown. Medium sized head with an off white head. ARoma of caramel and vegetables; Flavor was better, as the aroma was not up to par. Flavor had some decent nut, caramel combination. Not anything to write home about, but its probably better than their other beers.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2013 Bottle from Total Wine in Henderson, NV. Clear amber pour with a foamy head. Earthy malts and nut in the aroma and taste. Somewhat smooth palate, slightly astringent on the finish.

The best of the bunch by far. Not the best Nut Brown I have ever had but just a wonderful beer. You get a pleasant inviting aroma. The taste is a combination of caramel, chocolate and hazelnut. The malt keeps its from being too sweet, and adds a robust flavor to this beer. It finishes very clean. I would be happy to try this again.

Not a bad brown ale. Very nutty aroma and taste. Smooth on the palate and very refreshing on a hot summer day.
