Harris Teeter’s nut brown is better than expected, combining a nice earthy malt with a soft carbonation and nutty finish. A pretty pour, Barrel Trolley nut brown sports a fluffy off-white head and clear deep brown body. A bit of coppery metallic character shows in the otherwise pleasant finish, detracting from the overall appeal of the beer.

Pours a dark brown w/ a tiny white head that leaves a little bit of lacing. The aroma is dominated by the hazelnut. The taste is nutty & smooth throughout. It’s nicely balanced & has a light creamy mouthfeel. A very solid beer that’s everything you would expect from a brown. Quite nice!

Not a bad brown ale. Very nutty aroma and taste. Smooth on the palate and very refreshing on a hot summer day.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours Ceylon tea color, nice head and lace, aroma subdued, palate is medium-bodied and medium-malt density, finish just okay - certainly drinkable, but unremarkable. By the way, didn’t pick up the hazelnut at all.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
The best of the bunch by far. Not the best Nut Brown I have ever had but just a wonderful beer. You get a pleasant inviting aroma. The taste is a combination of caramel, chocolate and hazelnut. The malt keeps its from being too sweet, and adds a robust flavor to this beer. It finishes very clean. I would be happy to try this again.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Dark brown, copper color. Tangy malt aroma that is unappealing. Light bitter and malt flavors with little hazelnut taste. Lingering metallic taste on the palate.
