jredmond (5328) - Manhattan, New York, USA - SEP 11, 2013
Draft at Pony Bar HK with Brendan. Pours a pale yellow body with light white head. Aroma is a weird mix of floral notes, smoke and wheat. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side of medium with notes of smoke, wheat, spice, band-aids, grain, light grass and peat.

Sample at the brewery. Pours a super pale yellow, cloudy, not much head or lace. Nose of wheat citrus, faint smoke, band aid. Light body. I was told the smoke is because it was blended with Le Peat and it doesn’t usually taste like that. Interesting but I didn’t care for it.

Tap @ Pony. Pour is a hazy, opaque yellow with unremarkable head. Aroma is wheat, citrus and latent acidity. Palate is mostly citrus and lemon zest. Moderate to high carbonation and light bodied. Went down easily. Kind of spritzy, but with a very wheaty-bitter undertone.

A: The pour is a cloudy, light yellow color with a finger of white head. S: Extremely herbal and floral on the nose. A lot of rose, camomile, and hibiscus type aromas. There’s a strong aroma of black pepper to it as well. Some citrus, perhaps oranges and orange peel. Light wheat and malt notes. T: Overly herbal and floral. Camomile, sage, rose, and hibiscus dominate the flavor. There is a little bit of bitterness to it and a light grassiness. Light bread and malt flavors with a touch of tart lemon zest. M: Medium in body with fairly high carbonation. O: Way too herbal. Wasn’t a big fan of this beer.

Growler from BigZ. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a white head. Aroma of flowers, light spices (it does kind of smell beachy), wheat malt. Flavor again very floral and herbal (tea, hibiscus?) with camomile. Some wheaty and bready malt in there too. Certainly an interesting herbal wheat. 7/4/7/4/14 [3.6/5]

Tap at Rattle n Hum - Pour is clear golden. Aroma is wheaty, spice and a touch of clove. Nice floral pervades, blended with bready malts, light caramel and nice wheaty spice. finish is smooth and sweet. Better than I was expecting.

Sampled from the tap at Rattle N Hum. Poured a near clears gold with a white head that dissipated slowly to the edges. Aroma had notes of light fruits, flora, sweet wheat and a hint of spice. Flavor had a bit more spice on it but still had a nice mix of sweet grains, fruit and flora.

beerbill (3404) - Laurel, New York, USA - DEC 29, 2010
Growler filled at Bellport Cold Beer & Soda and consumed the next day. Pours a cloudy yellow gold with a moderate white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Very mild aroma of wheat grain and not much else. The flavor is wheat grain followed by some mild-moderate bitterness that lingers on the palate along with a bit of the wheat flavor in the background for about fifteen seconds. Light-medium bodied. No problems.
