4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 JoeMcPhee (6963) - Toronto, ON, - DEC 29, 2011
Growler from bierkraft. The aroma is fairly rich and zesty. Lots of pine and orange peel with a little bit of soft pepper and a touch of bright resinous character. There is a very lean malt component that lets the hop dankness really shine through. Very lean malt component. Dry sort of herbal flavour on the finish with a touch of white pepper. Really lovely brew. Fresh and zesty.

Growler from brewery. Golden copper with head. Fresh grapefruity resiny aroma. Assertive herbal fruity resiny hops throughout. Some medium fruity sweetness. Dry bitter satisfying finish. Drink slightly stronger than the abv imho perhaps because of the very fruity sticky middle. Very good.

Growler from the brewery. Pours a clear orange with a thick white head. Flavor of sweet citrus, hop oils and resin, sweet malt, tropical fruits. Flavor is sweet, fruity, and quite hoppy. A strong iipa but it’s good.

Tap at RnH - Very hoppy in the nose. Caramel malts and a bit bready. Dry, astringent in the finish. Great sharp bitterness. Spritzy carbonation and a touch of vegetable. refreshing and tasty hops.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 hivemind (426) - New York, New York, USA - SEP 3, 2011
On tap at Rattle n Hum with Erica, served in an English pint glass. Bright copper/orange pour with a bit of hue. Strong citrus on the nose and a bitter, citra-hoppy palate that never really evens out. It’s almost like there’s nowhere to run because after the initial orange-zesty flavor kicks in, it does not leave. Maybe it’s just not for me.
4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 jredmond (2812) - Manhattan, New York, USA - JUN 18, 2011
Draft in an 8 oz glass from The Pony Bar with Streets and Brendan. Pours an amber body with light off white lacing. Aroma is straight up weed and pine needles. Mouthfeel is clean and fresh with notes of wintery pine needles, fresh citrus hops. Another stellar beer from Barrier.
