Growler from the brewery. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma of citrusy, bitter hops, roasted/charred malt, sweet malt, bitter chocolate. Flavor is quite in favor of a hoppy imperial stout with lots of bitterness and less heavy sweetness. This is very similar to Lights Out Stout, but heavier in palate of course. A luscious imperial stout, this one did not disappoint. 8/4/9/4/16 [4.1/5]

A deep dark stout with a thick lacing brown head. In aroma, a beautiful floral hops, chocolate with light black pepper notes, very smooth. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate with coffee, pepper, molasses, some aniseed, very rich and warming. On tap at Bierkraft, Dec. 29 2011.

The aroma is chocolate, molasses, roast. The appearance is deep black, reddish hue, tan head. The flavor is like the aroma, chocolate, molasses, roast. The finish is pine needles, roasty, some sweetness. Medium/thick in body. Solid Impy Stout. This one definitely didn’t disappoint.
