Mid black with a medium tan head.

A more than decent porter - really liking the stuff from Barrier!
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 brystmar (517) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAR 4, 2013
On tap at Jimmy's 43. Big wave of roasty malt and chocolate in the nose. Can honestly say I wasn't expecting it to smell this good.
Smooth and crisp on the palate, finishing bone dry. The roastyness shines through, supported by a creamy body. Quite nice, I must admit.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 hivemind (666) - New York, New York, USA - NOV 13, 2012
On tap @ Pony Bar 10/31/2012 with James, Streets, Andy, Jenn. Black pour, light tan head. A little head remains throughout. Aroma is watery milk and light roast. Flavor is roasty, not a lot of chocolate or not or other typical porter qualities. Too much roast, too little everything else.

From the cask at Get Real NY - ok flavor. Nutty with some chocolate and prune. Fruity goodness, raisins and pine and smooth bodied. Astringent, dry finish.

Tap. Sticky light tan head; mahogany brown with light brown highlights. Nice roasted coffee aroma, with some malted milk and roast. Pretty tasty with some ash, light roasted coffee, and bittersweet chocolate. Could use a bit more in the body, ligther and soft carbonation. Still, pretty solid.

Growler filled at Bellport Cold Beer & Soda and consumed the same day. Pours black with a moderate tan head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma of coffee, and roasted malt with some notes of cocoa present as well. The flavor closely follows the aroma with coffee, roasted malt and to a lesser extent cocoa. Mild-moderate bitterness at the finish. Very nice porter!

Cask at Get Real New York 2011. Deep brown pour. The aroma is a little bit of light chocolate and a touch of light rye spiciness. There is a little bit of vegetal character and some light ethanol. The beer is surprisingly light on the palate. A bit lighter than I’d like.

Draft. Pours a black body with a coffee tan head. Licorice and inky notes up front. Coffee with a chewy chocolate sweetness and a bittering coffee esk finish. Soft body light earth toned hops and a bitter finish. Not bad.
