3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 VENOM (941) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 30, 2002
Hazy yellowed orange. Small, compact white head. Minimal carbonation. Toasted malt aroma with hints of peaches, tea leaves and flowery hops. Crisp, sharp and biting with a coppery edge. Tea like hop bitterness and peach skin aftertaste. Medium body. Toasty, dry malts. Pale malt husk in the aftertaste balanced with nicely bittered hops. Flavor turns sharp and decidedly tea like, due to age most likely (Best Before Date - Dec.). Still remains toasty and full. Finishes with a kick of alcohol and dryly toasty malts. Would be ideal when fresh.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - MAY 30, 2003
Clear amber, small-to-medium head, nice lacing, sweet malty-cookie nose, fruity and strongly hoppy with oakiness coming in for the finish. Excellent ESB, very good brewpub, not nearly well-known enough.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 hayduke (2526) - Eureka, California, USA - AUG 7, 2009
From a draft pour at the Egremont Inn tavern in Egremont, MA this bitter came a slightly hazy amber with a nice white head and good sticky lacing rings. Nose of caramel malts with some floral tinges and light cookie dough. Mouthfeel is lively and suitable for a bitter. Flavor is strongly bitter and tehr is some spices. Finish is quite bitter Good for its type.
3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 PhatB420 (368) - Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA - APR 15, 2010
22oz bomber. Color is lighter than the IPA which I found surprising. Taste is malt through and through with a lingering presenence of toasted nuts of some variety. The head presents itself for a full on malt explosion and the taste draws you in. The earthy undertone brings forth a relaxing state of mind when ingesting slowly. Nice brew.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Aurelius (3143) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - SEP 14, 2007
Sweet butterscotch fruit aroma. Bad label, bronze beer. Bittersweet, moderately peaty, cakey undertones. Medium heavy bittering. Good carbonation from the bottle, medium body. Except for the diacetyl in the aroma, fairly balanced. Bittering builds in the finish over celery and sunflower seed properties in the very end. Thanks to DW for hauling this back and splitting with me.
