2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 ericnixon (734) - Northampton, USA - NOV 13, 2006
On tap at the Barrington Brewery. Clear copper color. The taste was a mild clovey. It was also kind of watery. Reminded me more of a macro.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Leighton (4091) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 21, 2009
Oh boy, this one was like eating a batch of Grandma’s home-baked biscuits. So very...bready. And yeasty. Poured a nice, slightly cloudy golden color. Bready nose, very little head. A pretty tasty brew on the whole.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Cletus (6063) - Connecticut, USA - APR 1, 2008
Bomber. Pours gold with a slight chill haze and a nice white head. Smells nutty and somewhat sweet with some spicy elements and biscuits present. Tastes slightly dry with a very nice complimentary tartness, some toastiness and a nice earthy finish. Great example.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Rastacouere (5919) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 16, 2007
Clearish straight golden lager. A smallish white head initially covers it and procures moderate lace, but slowly fades. Enormously bready, but that’s unfortunately pretty much all there is. A mild toastiness and a rounder cerealic feel combine into a rather vegetal display, think the blandest brand of rice or plain and wetter flour. Sweet, yet its carbonation unloads a wave of biting small bubbles. Lazy hops are almost absent. No bitterness, just linear malts. Medium bodied and soporific.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MartinT (6340) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 10, 2007
My Bottom Line:
Simple bready malts form a decent body in which furtive hops tickle the ending for an overly basic and quiet golden Vienna.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the hazy hay gold.
-The tranquil carbonation and lean body increase drinkability.
-Maltiness plays biscuity cracker notes too.
-Watery passages get tiresome soon enough.
Bottle.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Aurelius (3143) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 23, 2007
Big malty aroma, medium to medium-heavy diacetyl. Medium dark honey gold, decent bomber, bright foil cap cover. Grain sweetness, lightly bitter, honey flavors. Finishes the same way. Medium body. Thanks to DW for bringing this back from MA.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 PorterPounder (4103) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 23, 2007
Medium golden pour, fluffy white head. Yeasty, buttery aroma with hints of caramel - full bodied. Flavor has some sticky sweetness, a hint of caramel and some doughy notes with a hint of butterscotch. Thickish mouthfeel. Brought back from one of Aurelius’s work partners from the brewbub in a bomber. Very decent.
1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 KariCupcake (214) - Lenox, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 13, 2006
Smells like a wet rabbit hutch - which is not always a bad smell. Clear golden color. Instead of being called "Vienna", it should be called "Golden" because that is what color it is - and also Golden, CO is where they make Coors...which is this beer’s identical twin.

Tap at the brewpub. Golden clear, white head. Very clean malty aroma. Flavor is clean and malty, low hops. This is very well made with no real flaws and right to style.
