COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed just like the original from Burton upon Trent. This style calls for a high hop rate combined with an elevated alcohol content because it was brewed to survive the journey from England to Bombay as rations for British troops. Huge amounts of two row pale malt with an addition of a few specialty malts provides a nice mouth feel buried under copious additions of Columbus hops. This beer is big but finishes clean.

Tap at AZSBF.Pour is gold with a white head. Aroma is dominated with citrus and pine. Flavor shows the same with some underlying caramel. Overall body is moderate with nice lasting bitterness.

On tap at Barrio. Great full mouth! Frothy head with a dark amber color. Great hopps taste that is very fruity. Strong palet that you will enjoy!

Pours extremely clear with full white head. Aroma of spicy hops and a light sweetness. Flavor is some up front hops and light maltiness. Actually not very different than Stone IPA. I do like IPA’s with a little more maltiness, but the hops are nice on this one.

UPDATED: JAN 16, 2011 chelsea ipa on tap @ GB. pours a hazy orange gold thin white quickly disappearing head. aroma is grapefruit skin, pine, brown sugar and dried apricot. flavor mirrors the aroma without being too sweet. crisp dry finish with lingering grassy hops. medium body, carbonation and mouth feel. 7/3/7/3/16/3.6

on tap at barrio... hazy golden copper colored pour with a white film for a head. it is fairly unattractive and nearly murky... it smells a lot like canned OJ... minerally, cooked orange, pith, light yeastiness, mild non resinous pine and earthy spicy hops. the palate is a touch too sweet and thick... orange, caramel, pale malt, tingly pine and spicy hops. it is far more earthy and sweet than bitter and balanced. medium to full bodied but almost an unpleasant mouth feel due to the sugar level and lack of bitterness. 6/4/6/3/13/3.2
