Cask, handpump at the brewpub, The Exeter Arms, Barrowden, Rutland, whilst cycling in this Rutland Water area 14.05.11 Pours chestnut brown with good clarity. There is a light chocolate touch here, and whilst not a lot else other than some bitterness it isn’t bad at all considering the strength. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.2

29th May 2010. On tap at the brewpub. Clear amber beer. Light semi dry palate. Watery hopsand a little toffeeish malt. Finishes semi dry. Not bad but (inevitably) a little bit watery.

Cask, Leicester BF 2010. Soupy brown ringed with off-white. Juicy red apple, clovey spice and banana aroma. Fruity with bubblegum notes, husky malt, sweet lingering digestives, hint of earth, overripe apple. More hop and malt character than plenty of beers twice its strength. Thin of course, but that big hop bitterness and sweet biscuity balance pulls it through.
