Quack-Duck (5921) - Down South, GERMANY - MAR 12, 2012
bottle from bierpost. Deep brown, almost black colour, small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts and coffee. Rather light-bodied, caramel, cocoa powder and roasted malts, shy hints of coffee. A bit thin perhaps, the flavours are right, though.

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 11/20
Idiosynkrasie (509) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - FEB 4, 2012
750ml bottle. Clear dark reddish brown with huge, collapsing off-white head. Spicy, salty liquorice aroma, roasted malt, maybe bitter hop supported. Salty like a rest cure at the north sea (or for my sake the Baltic Sea in this case). Taste is without salt, a quickly fading soapy to bitter hop note, a plain roasted malt taste remains. Watery, almost light body. Diluted as if a 500ml bottle was filled up with water to reach the 750ml calibration mark.

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and minerals. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, leading to a bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.
