COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask & bottle conditioned; Occasional.
Brewed to celebrate the Apache Helicopter and 4 Regiment’s return from operations in Afghanistan in September 2008. The Regiment’s C.O., Colonel Dalton was moving on, so it seemed an ideal way of celebrating these events.

Bottle in a mixed case that was kindly picked up for me by Vale Brewery Nov 08. Pours orangey amber with the tiniest of white bubbly head. In fact this beer is actually rather flat and devoid of much sparkle and life a shame really as it tastes ok and with good bottle conditioning could have been an altogether much better beer. There is a nice bitterness which doesnt hit at first rather its overtaken by the sweet maltiness. Good earthy qualities and nice earthy hops come to the fore, ends with some bitterness. A reasonably decent beer that could have been so much better with good bottle conditioning. A6 A3 F6 P3 OV13 3.1

Cask at Chapel Beer Festival. Clear amber - gold beer. Soft dry palate. Low carbonation. Immediately slightly sour and tangy. Rich tangy malt with fruity sourness - almost wine like. Finishes soft and dry with more tangy malt and fruits. Some carbonation would have been good!

Bottle. Bought from Barwells’ Fine Foods in Bury St Edmunds. Golden-orange appearance ruined by the haze. A yeasty, floral, herbal smell. Texture is quite smooth but an off metalic edge to it. Pretty sure this is too warm. Drinkability is moderate. Carbanation is low. A good session beer. Would like this properly conditioned. Can taste oil; caramel, floral and herbal. Some toffee too. A descent bitter.
