330ml bottle from Pigs Ear Beer Festival, consumed on 3 December 2010.. Batch no ACA151010. Best before end March 2012. Extremely dark brown colour. Lots of bitter chocolate. Dark & rich. Some tart fruit. Maybe as much of a porter than an old ale but, as Fin says, difficult to categorise. Very satisfying whatever it is.

Bottle at home ... HUGE thanks to Fin for this beast ... deep brown ... thin creamy tan head ... This has the oddest of noses ... very fruity ... almost sour but its not ... rich full maybe a little nutty ... flavour is again very rich and intense ... little salt .. big toffee ... lots of wood ... oak ... beach ... cedar ... very woody ...little bitter ... No idea if this is same batch fin rated but its BBF Sept 09 so it probably is... its developed more carbonation as its definitly not flat ... Its almsot a rich sour ale... but without the sourness.. and a little cheesyness
